Religion: Cancer or Cure (The Beginning)

Writer: Peter OtaborPeter Otabor

Chaos, the new theme of the 21stcentury. Nations gripped by the fear of uncertainties as the chants of liberation fill the air, the turmoil of financial realities persisting, extremists waging divine will, natural disasters exercising its blunt dominance; our constant reminder of helplessness and there we lie, men holding firmly to the last point of reason; Religion.

Welcome to the age of religious audacity! The crazy, the unbelievable and the unfathomable. Welcome to the new age of religion. Necessity, need or distraction; religion rises as a beacon of hope. It faults the perfect role of keeping man on the brink of reason and survival as everyman clings to his own God, is own reality, is own mirage, his own fate. Like opium, religion bewilders, it breaks and brings men to their kneels in reverence, in mindless-faultless attachment to hope or its falsehood.

Religious extremism; the new battle front of the century. Men absent reason or men deeply held by the fangs of religion. Death the glorious end, kill the gentile-infidels, with holy rage and bask in the euphoria of divine will. Message of a lifetime, the mindless men devour with joyous rage and insatiable blood lust. Gods-will the charge, the sanction to act without conscience. Men gladly clad in the thoughts of glory, move like the wind sinisterly administering the message and act of holy judgment on everyman.

Cancer or Cure. Religion stands in the dilemma to sinisterly pervade thought or provide a solution to man’s current plight. For men bask in the belief that religion is hope with substance and a man would do not anything to keep his hope alive. Beautifully crafted ideology I admit; principles inscribed in the belief of a divine. Time to act! Or watch this raging menace wage war on existence or this gracious opportunity of hope go to waste. Your move?
