IF MY HEART

Writer: Peter OtaborPeter Otabor

What would you do if my heart was lost?

If my passion waned,

If my memories of you were lost,

And if I stood a shadow of my former self.

Would you still love me?

Would you still hold my hand and

Feel the warmth of my skin

And listen to my heart, beat with desire.

Would you still care to know about my days and my struggles?

Would you still believe in me and in my dreams?

If I were to stand in the midst of the crowd would you still recognize me?

Would you still support my fruitless wanderings?

And my passionate failures.

Would you still care and

Would you still stay?

If my heart was to beat not love but distrust

Would you still care to love me still?

If I was to fail desire and love another

Would you care to pursue me still?

Would YOU?

And if my heart was lost to you forever?

Would you care to love me still?

Or would your love just fade into the dark?

Do love me!

As I am but the misguided fool

The broken man in search of wholeness

Do love me as I empty without you

Do love me much more that I can hold

And Let the birds sing and let the winds whisper your love

Let my heart feel it miles away

Let me fall in love with you

Once again

And let me be lost forever in your love.
